How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
An actor of about 25 is wanted for a college short film, listed in the Caballito neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The listing is very brief and does not describe the story, the character, the shoot dates or the material to send. It is unpaid. Contact is by email, at the address in the listing. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Since the listing says so little, your first email can be short: a headshot, a full body photo and a link to your reel if you have one. Add a few concrete questions: which school the short is for, what the character is about, which days they shoot and where. Those answers will tell you if it works for you. It also helps to ask about travel costs and getting the finished footage for your reel.
How to apply to this casting call
