Casting directors

Almost none of them take materials directly: they work by call or alongside the agencies. It pays to know their work and to watch for their searches.

María Laura Berch

She directed the casting of La sociedad de la nieve (Society of the Snow) and, with Iair Said, that of El Eternauta. According to the San Sebastián Festival, she has worked on more than two hundred Argentine projects since 2002 (San Sebastián).

Iair Said

An actor and the casting director of El Eternauta, and co-director of the casting of La sociedad de la nieve. He posts some of his calls on Instagram.

Mariana Mitre

She directed the casting of Argentina, 1985 and Belén (IMDb).

Luciano Heredia

He directed the casting of En el barro (Netflix) and El Hincha (IMDb).

Vanina Martorilli

Casting director of El Marginal, Las del Barro and Graduados, according to the Asociación Argentina de Actores y Actrices (Argentina’s actors’ union), for whose members she gave a masterclass in 2026 (Actores).

Representation agencies

They represent actors with a track record and negotiate their contracts. They are useful once you have work to show in a reel. If you don’t have any yet, start with the steps to become an actor from scratch.

EB Talent

It represents actors and models. Its registration page explains what material to send by email.

Saigón MGMT

The representation arm of the Saigón agency.

Mirando Management

It represents artists exclusively and is tied to Casting Club.

TV channels

TV channels post calls, but for participants in their reality shows and programs, not for fiction. They can still help you gain experience in front of a camera.

Telefe

It posts sign-ups for programs such as Gran Hermano and Minuto para ganar.

El Trece

It posts calls for participants and audience members for its programs, such as Ahora caigo.

Unions and institutions

The union defends your working conditions and the rights society collects your performer royalties.

Asociación Argentina de Actores y Actrices

The actors’ union. To join, you need at least one job paid through the union in the last 90 days, in theater, film, TV, advertising or dubbing. It has branches outside Buenos Aires, such as the one in Córdoba.

SAGAI

The society that manages performers’ rights. To become a member, you must have taken part in at least one audiovisual work that has generated rights. It also offers scholarships.

SUTEP

The union that represents extras in television, film and advertising. It coordinated the extras for El futuro es nuestro, the Netflix series shot in La Plata (Los Andes).

Where to study acting in Argentina

There is public, free training of very good quality. More ideas in do you need acting school to become an actor.

UNA, Departamento de Artes Dramáticas (Buenos Aires)

The Universidad Nacional de las Artes (National University of the Arts) offers the bachelor’s degree in Acting, free of charge. They ask for a completed high school education (secundario) and an introductory cycle, and the admissions information for each year comes out starting in September.

EMAD (Buenos Aires)

The Escuela Metropolitana de Arte Dramático (Metropolitan School of Dramatic Art) offers the Actor and Actress Training program: 4 years, in person and free. For the 2026 admission, a monologue of up to 4 minutes was required.

Timbre 4 (Buenos Aires)

A private school with annual workshops led by Claudio Tolcachir. You pre-register online and then there is a talk at the theater.

Universidad Nacional de Córdoba

A bachelor’s degree in Theater with a focus on Acting, 5 years plus a final project.

Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Mendoza)

A bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Art at the Faculty of Arts and Design.

Websites and social accounts that post castings in Argentina

These are the websites and accounts where calls for Argentina show up. It pays to check them often, since many searches close within a few days.

• Alternativa Teatral: posts theater, film and short film calls every day.
• Actores On Line: casting and audition notices for actors.
• CastingsCineTV (Argentina): gathers calls from the country and has pages for Córdoba and Rosario.

• Online Casting Argentina: auditions posted by production companies; some ask for a paid membership.

How to prepare for a casting in Argentina

When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:

• Acting resume on one page, with your details, measurements, training and experience. Guide: how to make an acting resume.

• Reel with your best scenes or, if you don’t have any work yet, a one-minute intro video. Guide: how to make an acting reel.

Watch out for fake castings

Reputable agencies and production companies in Argentina charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.

Some agencies and portals offer paid extras: Monteverde sells a featured profile and photo sessions, and Online Casting charges a membership for certain castings.
