Quick answer: in Bolivia, castings are posted mostly in Facebook groups such as Actores y Actrices de Cine: Contactos y Castings en Bolivia, by agencies such as Romeli Casting (Cochabamba) and in the calls of TV channels such as Red Uno and Unitel. Follow them, send your materials the way each call asks and have your acting resume, headshots and intro video ready.
Bolivian cinema keeps winning awards: Utama, by Alejandro Loayza Grisi, took the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2022 (Sundance), and La hija cóndor, by Álvaro Olmos Torrico, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won its lead, María Magdalena Sanizo, the best performance award at the 2026 Guadalajara Film Festival in Mexico (Los Tiempos).
Law 1134, the Cinema Law of 2018, created ADECINE, the Bolivian film and audiovisual development agency, which registers productions and grants filming licenses (Lexivox). The market is small and spread across La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, so it pays to follow each casting agency and each group closely.
Casting agencies and groups
In Bolivia a lot of the activity happens on Facebook and WhatsApp: casting groups bring together calls for shorts, films and commercials. For commercials, keep natural photos, an intro video and your measurements at hand: we explain it in the guide to commercial castings.
Romeli Casting Bolivia (Cochabamba)
The casting agency of Romeli Studios, run by actress Elisabeth Salazar, which cast La hija cóndor. In 2026 it put out calls for an international feature film and for a paid commercial in Sucre, asking by WhatsApp for name, age, photo and intro video. It has a form for its database.

TV channels
TV channels post castings for their entertainment programs, not for fiction. They are still useful for gaining experience in front of the camera.
Red Uno
In 2026 it held an in-person singing casting in Santa Cruz for La Gran Batalla and opened a call for talent to send videos. You can search for its calls on its website.

Where to study acting in Bolivia
Training counts in every casting and puts you in touch with directors and fellow cast members. If you’re just starting out, a workshop with a final showcase already adds experience to your resume: we explain it in the guide to becoming an actor from scratch.

A degree program in Dramatic Arts leading to a Técnico Superior (advanced technical degree, 3 years) or a Licenciatura (bachelor’s degree, 4 years). They ask for a high school diploma (diploma de bachiller) and passing the program’s admission process; enrollment carries a fee.

How to prepare for a casting in Bolivia
When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:
- Acting resume on one page, with your details, measurements, training and experience. Guide: how to make an acting resume.
- Headshots with current photos of your face, profile and full body. You can put them together at home: how to take headshots at home.
- Reel with your best scenes or, if you don’t have any work yet, a one-minute intro video. Guide: how to make an acting reel.
- Self-tape for remote castings: front lighting, a plain background and good audio. More details in what is a self-tape.
Watch out for fake castings
Reputable agencies and production companies in Bolivia charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.
Some academies include entry to their database in their paid courses: ask whether you can also join for free. And if someone tentatively books you for a shoot, ask them to confirm it in writing before you travel.
