How to Get Auditions in Ecuador

In this article

Quick answer: in Ecuador, castings come mostly from Instagram accounts and agencies in Quito and Guayaquil, such as @casting_ecuador, Callback Casting, Ecuador Casting Call and TAP, and from the casting department of Ecuavisa. Follow them, send your materials to the contact listed in each call and have your acting resume, headshots and reel ready.

Ecuadorian cinema is gaining visibility: Hiedra, by Ana Cristina Barragán, won the Best Screenplay award in the Orizzonti section of the 2025 Venice Film Festival, and 1,500 teenagers were auditioned for one of its roles (Primicias). For 2026 and 2027, the Instituto de Cine y Creación Audiovisual (ICCA, Ecuador’s film and audiovisual institute) presented a funding plan of USD 1.5 million for 139 projects (El Mercurio).

Fiction on television and streaming also opens opportunities: El Cholito Forever (Ecuavisa, 2026) featured newcomers chosen from among influencers and independent theater actors (El Diario). And the country offers foreign shoots a certificate that lets them recover up to 37% of their costs in Ecuador (ICCA).

How to prepare for a casting in Ecuador

When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:

Watch out for fake castings

Reputable agencies and production companies in Ecuador charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.

Frequently asked questions

Where are castings posted in Ecuador?

Mostly on Instagram: @casting_ecuador reposts calls from all over the country, and agencies such as Callback Casting, Ecuador Casting Call and TAP post their own. Also on CastingsCineTV and in the castings section of Casting and Acting.

How do I apply to a casting in Ecuador?

Each call lists its own contact, by email, WhatsApp or form: send exactly what they ask for, with current photos and, if you have one, your reel. TV channels such as Ecuavisa post their searches on social media with a form.

Where can I study acting in Ecuador?

At the Universidad de las Artes (Guayaquil, public and free), the Universidad de Cuenca and the Universidad Central del Ecuador, all with artistic entrance tests. Among private schools, INCINE offers a technical degree in film acting in Quito.

What is UNIARTE and how do I join?

It is the society that manages the rights of audiovisual actors and authors in Ecuador. Joining is free, except for a one-time fee of USD 12, and requires having taken part in at least one commercially exploited audiovisual work.

Do I have to pay to apply to a casting in Ecuador?

Reputable agencies charge the production company or the brand, not the actors. If a call asks you for money to take part, or for a mandatory headshot package with their photographer, be wary. Membership in some casting websites is a different matter: it is an optional service, and it’s best to try the free options before paying.

List reviewed in October 2026. Contacts change: if an agency has stopped operating or you know one that is missing, let us know. For other countries, see the Latin America Casting Directory.
