How to Get Auditions in Colombia

TV channels

The big channels post their calls only through their official channels.

Casting RCN

The casting account of Canal RCN, run by Jorge Avendaño. In 2025 the channel clarified that its calls come out only through its screen, its app, its website and its official social accounts (Publimetro).

Caracol Televisión

It posts sign-ups for its reality shows on its website, such as Desafío 2026, and clarifies that they are free and without intermediaries. They are entertainment castings rather than fiction, but they help you gain experience in front of a camera.

Representation agencies

They represent actors with a track record and negotiate their contracts. They are useful once you have work to show in a reel. If you don’t have any yet, start with the steps to become an actor from scratch.

Actor and Manager (MM Management & Production)

It represents actors such as Manolo Cardona, Andrés Parra, Carolina Ramírez and Zharick León, with a presence in Colombia, the United States, Mexico and Spain.

Karolina Conk Artist Management

An artist representative who lists the actors and actresses she represents on her website.

Unions and institutions

Law 1975 of 2019, known as the “actor’s law” (ley del actor), seeks to guarantee the labor and cultural rights of actresses and actors (text of the law). These organizations help you learn about those rights and find out what is being filmed in the country.

ACA (Asociación Colombiana de Actrices y Actores)

Colombia’s actors’ union. It reports on the guild’s rights and on working conditions in the sector.

Actores Sociedad Colombiana de Gestión

The entity that manages the rights of Colombian actors over their audiovisual work.

Comisión Fílmica Colombia

Colombia’s film commission. It publishes the incentives of Law 1556, the productions shot in the country and a sector directory where you can filter casting directors.

Proimágenes Colombia

It manages the Fondo para el Desarrollo Cinematográfico (FDC, the Film Development Fund) and publishes statistics on Colombian cinema and profiles of the people who work in it.

How to prepare for a casting in Colombia

When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:

• Acting resume on one page, with your details, measurements, training and experience. Guide: how to make an acting resume.
• Headshots with current photos of your face, profile and full body. You can put them together at home: how to take headshots at home.
• Reel with your best scenes or, if you don’t have any work yet, a one-minute intro video. Guide: how to make an acting reel.
• Self-tape for remote castings: front lighting, a plain background and good audio. More details in what is a self-tape.

Watch out for fake castings

Reputable agencies and production companies in Colombia charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.

In 2025 Canal RCN warned about fake calls that used the names of its productions (Publimetro). When in doubt, look for the call on the official social accounts of the channel or the agency. And on casting websites, check that each listing says who is casting and under what conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Where are castings posted in Colombia?

Mostly on the Instagram accounts of the agencies (Zoom, Happy Casting House, Siloé, Armonika, Lion Casting, Innova and Borrón y Cuenta Nueva), on accounts that repost calls such as @solocastingcolombia and @casting.colombia, and on sites such as CastingsCineTV and Online Casting. You can also check the castings section of Casting and Acting.

How do I sign up with a casting agency in Colombia?

Almost all have a form: Zoom uses the CLEO platform, Innova has its sign-up page, and Siloé and Borrón y Cuenta Nueva link theirs from their Linktree. Upload current photos, your measurements and, if you have one, your reel.

Do international productions hold castings in Colombia?

Yes. Thanks to the incentives of Law 1556, Paddington in Peru, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado and Shadow Force were shot in the country, and for One Hundred Years of Solitude Netflix held an open casting that anyone could apply to. Most often, though, the production companies shooting for the platform are the ones that put out the calls: we explain how to audition for Netflix.

Where can I study acting in Colombia?

In Bogotá, the Escuela de Actuación del Teatro Nacional, the Teatro Libre school and the Facultad de Artes ASAB of the Universidad Distrital; in Cali, the Universidad del Valle; in Medellín, the Universidad de Antioquia; and in Barranquilla, the Universidad del Atlántico.

Do I have to pay to apply to a casting in Colombia?

Reputable agencies charge the production company or the brand, not the actors. RCN and Caracol clarify that their calls come out through official channels and without intermediaries: if they ask you for money to take part, be wary.
