Quick answer: in Mexico, most castings come from Mexico City agencies such as Morán Casting, Masellis, Reza Casting, BM Casting and Julio Toledo Extras, which post their calls on Instagram and have registration forms. Join their databases, follow accounts such as @castingclubmx and have your acting resume, headshots and reel ready.
Mexico is the largest Spanish-language audiovisual market. According to the 2025 yearbook of IMCINE (the Mexican Institute of Cinematography), 235 Mexican feature films were in some stage of production in 2025, along with 66 Mexican series, and more than half of the ones released on streaming platforms were for ViX, TelevisaUnivision’s streaming service (IMCINE).
The platforms are betting big, too: in February 2025 Netflix announced a US$1 billion investment in Mexico over four years, with about 20 productions per year (Expansión). For actors, that means castings all year round, mostly in Mexico City.

How to prepare for a casting in Mexico
When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:
- Acting resume on one page, with your details, measurements, training and experience. Guide: how to make an acting resume.
- Headshots with current photos of your face, profile and full body. You can put them together at home: how to take headshots at home.
- Reel with your best scenes or, if you don’t have any work yet, a one-minute intro video. Guide: how to make an acting reel.
- Self-tape for remote castings: front lighting, a plain background and good audio. More details in what is a self-tape.
Watch out for fake castings
Reputable agencies and production companies in Mexico charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.
Some agencies sell headshots, coaching or self-tapes, and Online Casting charges a membership for certain castings. These services are optional: signing up with an agency or going to a casting costs nothing. If you plan to pay for a membership, first see which casting websites are worth using and how each plan renews.
Frequently asked questions
Where are castings posted in Mexico?

Can minors work in castings in Mexico?
Yes, with conditions. Mexico’s Federal Labor Law (Ley Federal del Trabajo) allows children under 15 to take part in artistic activities with a written contract and their parents’ express consent, as long as it does not affect their education or involve risks, and with pay no lower than what a worker aged 15 to 17 would receive (Article 175 Bis). Children under 16 can work up to 6 hours a day, in blocks of no more than 3 hours (Article 177 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo). More in auditions for kids and teens.
How do I join ANDA?
You need a work contract endorsed by ANDA, your tax status certificate as an independent artist, a CURP, a resume and photos, and the membership is paid at the Association’s cashier. The information is on laanda.org.mx, its official website.
Where can I study acting in Mexico?
TelevisaUnivision’s CEA is free and has a youth call; the ENAT of INBAL and UNAM’s CUT are public and require an entrance exam, as does the Faculty of Theater at the Universidad Veracruzana. Among private schools, CasAzul offers a bachelor’s degree in acting.
Do I have to pay to apply to a casting in Mexico?
Reputable agencies charge the production company or the brand, not the actors. If they ask you for money to take part in a casting or for a mandatory headshot package, be wary.
