How to Get Auditions in Guatemala

Production companies, theaters and channels that call for actors

Besides the agencies, these are the ones that posted the most open calls in 2026.

La Casa de Producción

Jayro Bustamante’s production company, created in 2009, offers casting and acting coaching services. In 2026 it opened calls across the country: in January, dancers and people ages 18 to 75 with no experience for a documentary; in June, kids ages 9 to 13 who play soccer for a film (Emisoras Unidas).

Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias

Since 2024 it has produced its own plays with open auditions. In 2026 it built the casts of Torotumbo, with 216 participants, and Miel amarga, among other plays, through those auditions (Ministry of Culture and Sports). The calls go out through the channels of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

TV Azteca Guate

It posts on its website the castings for its reality shows and pageants, such as La Isla, La Academia and Miss Universe Guatemala. These are entertainment castings rather than fiction ones, but they help you gain experience in front of the camera.

ENAD “Carlos Figueroa Juárez”

The Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramático (National School of Dramatic Art), part of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, has been running since 1957. Its 3-year program awards a Bachiller en Arte (an arts high school diploma) with a specialty in Acting or Theater Design. Entrance auditions are in January and require having passed tercero básico (the third year of lower secondary school) and being under 18 (Ministry of Culture and Sports).

Escuela Superior de Arte (USAC)

The Universidad de San Carlos (USAC) offers a Licenciatura en Arte Dramático (bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Art) with a specialization in Acting (it has its own entrance tests) and a master’s in Theater and Performing Arts.

Casa Comal y Festival Ícaro

Casa Comal, an association with a film school created in 1998, organizes the Festival Ícaro, which in 2026 runs from November 6 to 28. Its training section posts acting workshops for film and residencies for actors.

Websites and social accounts that post castings in Guatemala

There are almost no active websites that gather castings in Guatemala, so it pays to follow the agencies and production companies above directly and add these sources:

• Castings on Casting and Acting: castings and auditions posted on the site, with a country filter.
• News from the Ministry of Culture and Sports: announces the auditions of the Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias and admission to the ENAD.
• Festival Ícaro: workshops, residencies and film calls for actors in the region.

How to prepare for a casting in Guatemala

When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:

Watch out for fake castings

Reputable agencies and production companies in Guatemala charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. For many calls, you don’t: The Faces Management takes applications with and without experience, and in 2026 La Casa de Producción looked for people with no experience for a documentary. For theater and fiction film it pays to train and build experience with short films and plays.
