Quick answer: in El Salvador the most active casting company is Sivar Casting, which posts calls for commercials, film and television on Instagram and Facebook. Add the festivals (Ícaro, ESCINE) and the theaters that call for actors (Teatro Luis Poma and the Centro Cultural de España, Spain’s cultural center in the country), train at the CENAR (the National Arts Center) and have your acting resume, headshots and reel ready.
Salvadoran film is having a good moment: in 2026 the country put forward its own films for the Oscars and the Goya Awards for the first time, Vértices and Luciérnagas en El Mozote (El Mundo). Luciérnagas en El Mozote, released in December 2025, brought together more than 30 Salvadoran actors alongside an international cast (El Mundo).
At the same time, El Salvador still has no film law that promotes production (Entorno journal, UFG). That is why many calls circulate on social media: from casting companies, festivals, theaters and even city halls, as happened with the extras for that film in 2022 (elsalvador.com).

Websites and social accounts that post castings in El Salvador
In El Salvador almost all calls circulate on social media, so these sources work alongside the accounts above. If you also want to register on platforms, first see which casting websites are worth using and which ones charge you to apply.
- Castings on Casting and Acting: castings and auditions posted on the site, with a country filter.
- Sivar Casting on Instagram: the channel where the most Salvadoran calls appear today.
- TCS Ahora: castings for TV shows and pageants.
How to prepare for a casting in El Salvador
When a call comes up, the winner is whoever answers fast and with complete audition materials. Have this ready before you write to any agency:
- Acting resume on one page, with your details, measurements, training and experience. Guide: how to make an acting resume.
- Headshots with current photos of your face, profile and full body. You can put them together at home: how to take headshots at home.
- Reel with your best scenes or, if you don’t have any work yet, a one-minute intro video. Guide: how to make an acting reel.
- Self-tape for remote castings: front lighting, a plain background and good audio. More details in what is a self-tape.
Watch out for fake castings
Reputable agencies and production companies in El Salvador charge the people who hire them, not the actors: joining their database or going to a casting has to be free. Be wary if they ask you for money, intimate photos or to go alone, especially if you’re a minor. We explain how to recognize them in how to spot a fake casting call.
Frequently asked questions
Where are castings posted in El Salvador?
Mostly on the social accounts of Sivar Casting, on TCS Ahora (for TV shows) and on the accounts of festivals and theaters such as Ícaro, ESCINE, the Teatro Luis Poma and the Centro Cultural de España. You can also check the castings section of Casting and Acting.
Are there casting agencies in El Salvador?
Yes, although few have active public calls: when we reviewed this list in October 2026, the most active was Sivar Casting. Many “agencies” that appear in online directories no longer exist, so check before sending your details.
Where can I study acting in El Salvador?
The CENAR has free theater courses and diplomas, the Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado offers a technical degree in dramatic arts and the Teatro Luis Poma offers workshops for artists. For on-camera acting, look into the student shorts at ESCINE.
Do Salvadoran films look for local actors?
Yes. Luciérnagas en El Mozote brought together more than 30 Salvadoran actors, and in 2022 it called for extras through the San Francisco Lempa city hall. To hear about it in time, follow the casting companies and the film festivals. If background work interests you, we explain how to work as a background actor and what to expect on set.
Do I have to pay to apply to a casting in El Salvador?
Reputable casting companies and production companies charge the people who hire them, not the actors. If a call asks you for money to take part, or for a required headshot package with their own photographer, be wary.
List reviewed in October 2026. Contacts change: if an agency has stopped operating or you know one that is missing, let us know. For other countries, see the Latin America Casting Directory.
