How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
A medical center is producing a series of corporate videos and needs an actor or actress ages 20 to 30, any gender, to play a patient. The work involves acting out everyday moments of medical care, with scenes alongside health professionals and simulated tests and procedures. They want good expressiveness and a natural presence on camera, and experience on similar productions is a plus but is not required. It is paid, based on hours worked and what you agree on, with travel expenses covered on every shoot day. Send current photos, a reel or footage if you have it, your age and contact details by email. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Playing a patient calls for a natural feel, so send a short video of yourself talking as you would at a doctor's visit, without overacting. Photos work best from the front, in natural light and simple clothes. Ask which tests they will simulate, whether medical equipment is involved, and how the videos will be used, since your face will be tied to the center. Before you accept, agree on the amount and get the image rights in writing.
