What they are looking for
An independent theater project is looking for an actress and an actor with singing skills and solid vocal training. The show has a Christmas theme, features live music and will be staged outdoors in a park in Buenos Aires. The listing leaves out ages, rehearsal dates and the materials to send, so it is a good idea to send a resume, photos and a recording of you singing. It is unpaid; the production works as a cooperative that splits box office revenue, which is common in independent theater. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Submissions close on November 20. Apply through the original listing.
How to approach it
The text of the original listing cuts off mid-sentence, so write and ask for what is missing: ages, rehearsal days, which park and the performance dates. For the singing recording, choose a song that shows your range, a cappella or with simple accompaniment, and record it in a large space. Voices get lost outdoors, so ask whether there will be amplification. If the performances fall in December, make sure you will be in Buenos Aires over the holidays.
It takes you to the original listing: you apply there. Never pay to audition.
