What they are looking for
Miners Alley Performing Arts Center in Golden, Colorado, is holding general auditions for all adult roles in its 2027 season. The playhouse works under an Actors' Equity ITC agreement, though these are non-Equity season auditions, and it follows the Community Standards for Theatre for Colorado. Auditions are Sunday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sign up by Friday, November 6, at 5 p.m. through the theater's website, which also has show info and character breakdowns. Prepare two contrasting monologues of up to 90 seconds each, or one monologue and one song; an accompanist will be provided. It is paid: $395 per week for every role. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
A general audition for a whole season is won with contrast: pick two monologues that differ in tone and period, say a contemporary comedy and a classical piece, and keep each under 90 seconds. Before you sign up, check the website for the 2027 titles and choose material close to the roles you want. If you sing, bring sheet music in your key for the accompanist. Sign up before Friday, November 6, at 5 p.m., when the list closes.
