What they are looking for

The St. Louis Shakespeare Festival is casting Equity actors for its 2027 season of four shows: “All's Well That Ends Well,” the musical “Two Gentlemen of Verona,” “Richard III” and “Comedy of Errors.” Every show plays outdoors except the first, and none of the roles will be understudied. Auditions are November 6 and 7, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at the festival offices, with appointments booked ahead through SignUpGenius. Prepare 60 seconds of a Shakespeare monologue and bring your headshot and resume stapled together. It is paid, with a minimum of $889 per week on a LORT D contract that is still pending negotiation. Rehearsals run from January to August 2027, depending on the show. Apply through the original listing.

Castina's tip

Book your slot on SignUpGenius as soon as you can, since EPA appointments fill up fast. For an outdoor festival, pick a Shakespeare monologue that shows off your voice and projection, reads clearly in an open space and lands right at 60 seconds with clean text. If you sing, say so, since “Two Gentlemen of Verona” is a musical. Check which months each show rehearses and be clear about which ones you can actually commit to.
