What they are looking for
Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield, New Hampshire, is holding New York auditions for its 62nd season, a ten show alternating repertory that includes Sister Act, Matilda, Steel Magnolias, The Comedy of Errors, Fun Home and Les Misérables. It is seeking Equity actors for role packages that span several shows, such as Jean Valjean, Javert, Trunchbull, Deloris and Shelby. Rehearsals begin around June 7 and the season closes in October 2027. It is paid: an LOA contract with a $635 weekly minimum. The EPA is January 19 at the Equity audition center in New York; bring a brief song and have a monologue ready. If you cannot attend, you can submit a video audition through YouTube or Vimeo by December 20. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
In a ten show repertory you are hired for a package of roles, so study the track list and pick your song with the track that suits you best in mind, such as something from Sister Act if you are aiming for Deloris. Have a short monologue ready in case they ask. If you submit by video, send only the song and monologue, no reel. First make sure you can spend the summer in New Hampshire.
