What they are looking for
Fulton Theatre and Maine State Music Theatre are seeking Equity chorus singers for the ensemble of My Fair Lady. The roles are for women and men in their 20s through 50s, of any ethnicity, with strong voices and movement, covering parts like the Loverly quartet, Mrs. Eynsford-Hill and the servants. Rehearsals at the Fulton begin April 1, 2027, and the Maine run plays in June. It is paid: $1,500 per week. The chorus call is December 13 at Ripley-Grier Studios in New York, with women in the morning and men in the afternoon; prepare a brief cut of a golden age musical theater song in the style of the show, and an accompanist will be provided. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
For a My Fair Lady chorus, a Lerner and Loewe or Rodgers and Hammerstein cut of 16 to 32 bars works well, showing a clean, well placed voice. Bring sheet music with your cuts clearly marked for the accompanist. If you can do Standard British or Cockney, mention it, since the ensemble covers characters from different social classes. Check that April, May and June are free.
