What they are looking for
MSC Cruises is casting a male-identifying lead tenor for the Big Band at Sea concept aboard the MSC Euribia. The singer performs nightly with a 19-piece orchestra and shares the stage with one other vocalist, covering swing, pop, rock and jazz. A strong pop falsetto, commanding stage presence and prior experience at sea, as cast or guest artist, are required. The contract starts November 10, so only apply if you can join immediately. It is paid: a set fee of 4,620 euros, listed as $5,000 to $5,100 per month, on a non-union contract. Email your resume, headshot and a live stage reel with the subject line «Big Band at Sea». Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Put together a short reel where the pop falsetto and a swing number with a live band come through clearly, since that is what they will check first. If you have worked at sea before, list it at the top of your resume with the cruise line and the type of show. Before you submit, make sure your passport and travel documents are ready to join on November 10. It is worth asking how long the contract runs, since the listing only gives a start date.
