What they are looking for
A new stage adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo, the Alexandre Dumas novel, is building its cast for a 2027 opening in La Plata, Argentina. The staging will be psychological, minimalist and claustrophobic, built around betrayal, injustice, memory and revenge. They want actors 22 and older with stage experience, strong presence and the range to play intense dramatic characters. It is paid, although the listing does not give the amount. Send your acting resume with recent photos and your theater credits. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
If you have not read it, go back to the Dumas novel and pick a character that fits you, like Edmond Dantès, Mercédès or Fernand. For a claustrophobic staging, a restrained dramatic monologue about resentment or betrayal works better than a big showy piece. Update the photos on your profile before you apply. Since the show opens in 2027, ask when rehearsals start, how many days a week they run and which La Plata venue it will play.
