How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
A production company in Guadalajara, Mexico, is casting a TV show in a short soap opera format. They are looking for women, men, girls and boys ages 5 to 50, with no other look or experience requirements in the listing. The shoot lasts about four hours and takes place in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It is paid: 640 Mexican pesos for the day. To apply, you reach out by WhatsApp from the listing, and they ask for your materials there. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to apply for you. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
A short soap opera calls for clear acting, a bit bigger than film, so a waist-up intro video where you deliver a line with feeling, looking into the lens, works well. When you message on WhatsApp, first ask for the name of the production company, the shoot date and whether the 640 pesos is per person. If you are submitting a child, make sure an adult can stay with them for the four hours.
