What they are looking for
FricFrac Films is preparing Valery, a short film shooting in Bogotá, Colombia, and is looking for the actress who will play Evelyn. She is a woman ages 18 to 25, a single mother of a baby girl who moved to the capital on her own and works as a street vendor while going through serious financial hardship. The role calls for a strong personality balanced with a kind, warm gaze. It is for actresses who can work in Bogotá. It is paid, although the listing does not give the amount. Submissions close on November 18 and go through the platform where the call is posted. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
For Evelyn, a front-facing photo in natural light with simple everyday clothes and little makeup works best: she gets by on street sales, and the image should say so. If you have recorded material, pick a scene that shows toughness without losing tenderness, since that contrast is exactly what they describe. Before you send your details, it helps to ask about the pay amount, the shoot dates and whether there will be scenes with a baby on set.
