What they are looking for
Film students from UNA, the National University of the Arts in Argentina, are working with Rumbo Pirata Producciones on a short film and need an actress around 30 for the lead. The film is a period adaptation of a short story by the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar about a woman named Delia and a ringing phone, so comfort with characters from another era is a plus. Shooting takes place on November 7 in Villa Urquiza, Buenos Aires. It is unpaid; they cover travel and catering and share the footage for your reel. Submissions close on November 5, so send photos and, if you have one, an acting reel by email. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Read the Cortázar story before you send anything: it is short and sets the tone for the character. For a period role, a front-facing photo in natural light, with your hair pulled back and minimal makeup, works best. If your reel is long, point them to the exact minute of a quiet, low-dialogue scene. The shoot is two days after the deadline, so reach out soon and make sure you are free on November 7.
