How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
A production company is looking for actresses ages 50 to 60 for a television series in Bogotá. The listing is short and flagged as urgent, and it does not explain the plot, the character or the shoot dates. It is paid, although the listing gives no amount. The only thing they ask for is your book of photos, and applications close November 6. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Since they only ask for your book, make sure it shows your current age: a recent headshot and a full body shot in natural light are worth adding. If you have scenes from TV fiction, include a link. Before you accept anything, ask for the name of the series, which company is producing it, what the shoot dates are and how much it pays, because the listing leaves all of that open.
