Life Jacket Theatre Company is premiering The Gorgeous Nothings by Travis Russ, directed and choreographed by Danny Mefford, in New York. One lead track is open: Granville, a Southern-born, Harvard-educated Black man around 44 who helped found the NAACP and dreams of being a concert pianist. The same actor doubles several small roles and Gladys Bentley, so they want someone who embodies a full spectrum of masculinity and femininity. Understudies are also being cast. The call is for Equity on an Off Broadway contract. The Equity Principal Audition is November 6, 2026; prepare a 90-second monologue and a 32-bar cut from the Great American Songbook.
