What they are looking for
Golden Thread Productions, a San Francisco theater company focused on the Middle East, is casting Equity actors for El-Manshiyyeh. Actors of all ages, races, genders, abilities and experience levels are welcome, and the company has many roles for actors of Middle Eastern heritage. Skills in clowning, dance, ensemble or devised work and music are a plus. It is paid under the Bay Area Theatre contract, $404 weekly minimum. Auditions are November 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Potrero Stage by appointment; book a slot and fill out the form by November 6. Prepare a side from El-Manshiyyeh, available through the listing, where you can also read the full script. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Read the full script of El-Manshiyyeh before you choose your side: the link is in the listing and it gives you the context of the character and the place. If you speak Arabic or have family from the region, mention it on the form. Have the side nearly memorized so you can look at your reader. Book your slot before November 6 and check the rehearsal dates in the show's breakdown.
