What they are looking for
The national touring company of The Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical produced by Cameron Mackintosh, The Really Useful Company, and NETworks Presentations, is seeing Equity chorus dancers for possible future replacements in male and female characters. This is an Equity Chorus Call: auditions are Thursday, November 19, at Pearl Studios in New York, with male-presenting dancers at 10 a.m. and female-presenting dancers at 2 p.m. It is paid, on a Touring Agreement with a $2,599 weekly minimum. Male-presenting dancers should bring ballet shoes; female-presenting dancers need flats and pointe shoes. Bring a current headshot and resume stapled together. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Come warmed up in classical technique: this production's ensemble work is ballet based, and female-presenting dancers should be ready to show pointe. Get to Pearl Studios early, since sign-in order matters at chorus calls and there is a lunch break at 1 p.m. Have your Equity card plus your headshot and resume stapled together. Think honestly about joining a tour on short notice, since these are replacement spots.
