What they are looking for
INTAR, New York's Latino theater company, is staging I Hope This Letter Reaches Mictlan, a play about Mexican twins, immigration, and a journey to Mictlan, the Aztec underworld. They are casting actors in their 20s: Sarai and Saul, the Mexican twins; Ariel, an Irish American factory manager; Rubee, an African immigrant; Jaqueline, a Dominican American from Washington Heights who also voices the goddess Mictecacihuatl; a racially ambiguous actor for Noor and Fernando; and Xavi, a Latino jokester who guides Saul. The call is for Equity. The Equity Principal Audition is December 1, 2026 at the theater; sides are handed out that day, and bring a headshot and resume. Rehearsals begin in April 2027. It is paid: a $766 weekly minimum. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
The Equity monitor hands out sides that day, so arrive early to have time with the scene. Learn the pronunciations in the breakdown: Xavi is CHAA-VEE and Saul is SA-UL. Jaqueline's actor also voices the unseen goddess, so bring a voice that can chill and warm at once. To get in, buzz 4W1. Confirm you are free from the week of April 12 to June 13, 2027, or June 20 if it extends.
