What they are looking for
«Hasta pronto» is a student drama short shooting in Mexico City about a mother and daughter learning to let go. The production is looking for two actresses: the first ages 16 to 19 and the second ages 16 to 20 with a youthful look, both with dark or dark brown hair, dark eyes and a fair to light olive complexion. They want sensitivity, natural presence on camera and the ability to convey emotion through looks and silences; prior experience is optional. Filming takes place on November 15 in Mexico City, and submissions close on November 5. It is paid, a token fee with meals and transportation included. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Since this is a drama about letting go, it helps to record a short clip with a restrained scene that relies on pauses and looks more than lines. For photos, a headshot and a full body shot in natural light, hair down and with no filters, work well. If you are under 18, have a parent or guardian handle the contact. Before sending your details, ask which school or university is making the film and confirm you are free on November 15.
