How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
An agency in Bogotá, Colombia, is looking for volunteers for an awareness campaign aimed at women. The profile is broad: girls and women ages 4 to 70, with no experience required in the listing. Filming is on November 10 or 11 in Bogotá. It is unpaid: the listing asks for volunteers. Contact is by WhatsApp through the listing, and girls under 18 must apply with a parent or guardian. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Before you sign on, ask on WhatsApp what the campaign is about and which organization is behind it: in an awareness piece, your face becomes tied to that message. For this kind of video, a straight on photo with light makeup and a short, natural clip telling who you are work well. Filming is on the 10th or 11th: confirm which day and how many hours they will need you.
