Royal Caribbean auditions: what to prepare
Principals
First, bring two songs: a traditional musical theater number and a pop or rock song. Choose them for contrast. For example, one shows your legato, and the other shows your energy.
Ensemble
You dance first, then sing a 16-bar cut of a pop or rock song. So arrive warmed up and in dance clothes.
Either way, bring a headshot, a resume and your personal songbook, because you may be asked to sing something different.
Contract, travel and pay
Rehearsals run from April 5 to May 28, 2027. Then the contract runs from May 29, 2027, to April 16, 2028. Also, you must be available and willing to travel internationally on the ships.
It is paid. The listing gives no age range and does not mention a union.
How to apply to the Royal Caribbean auditions
First, show up on the date for your track with what the listing asks for. However, the official notice is on Playbill.
How to approach it
First, ask yourself whether you can live aboard a ship for almost a year starting in late May 2027. Then update your acting resume and your headshots. Our guide to auditions in New York covers the city side, and the page on how to get auditions in the United States covers the rest.
