How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
A production company is looking for the lead actor of a film shooting in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The role is for a man ages 18 to 24 who can act, sing and dance, and who enjoys techno cumbia, a Latin dance music style. It is paid, though the listing does not give the amount. Send photos, personal details, measurements and a resume. The call closes on December 6, so there is time to put together strong materials. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
For a lead role that calls for singing and dancing, add a short video to your photos where you sing a few bars and move to a techno cumbia track, so you show all three skills at once. Keep your photos simple, a headshot and a full-length shot in natural light, and make sure your measurements are current. If you live far from Bucaramanga, ask whether travel and lodging are covered. Since the company does not give its name, ask for the project title and the director first.
