What they are looking for
The Carnegie in Covington, Kentucky, is casting The Music Man, directed by Rachel Stevens with music direction by Ian Axness. The show runs July 1 to 18, 2027, with rehearsals June 7 to 30. It is paid: Equity roles use a Single Engagement Agreement Tier B at $604 per week minimum, and non-Equity actors earn at least $350 per week. Actors must be 18 or older by June 1, 2027, and casting is inclusive across race, gender identity, body type and mobility. Housing and travel are provided for select roles for non-local actors. In-person auditions are December 5 by appointment, with walk-ins as time permits. Prepare a 16 to 32 bar cut and bring a stapled headshot and resume. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
For The Music Man, a Golden Age musical theater cut works better than pop, since that is the style of the show. Mark your sheet music clearly for the accompanist and staple your headshot to your resume, as they ask. If you live far from Covington, ask whether the role you want includes housing and travel before you commit to June and July.
