What they are looking for
City Springs Theatre Company is holding an Equity open call for singers for its production of Grease, directed and choreographed by Parker Esse with music direction by Sara Chiesa. The call is Thursday, November 5, from 10 AM to 3 PM Eastern, at the company studios at 8601 Dunwoody Place in Sandy Springs, with free parking. Prepare a short song of your choice in the style of the show and bring sheet music in the correct key, plus your book in case the team wants to hear more. It is paid: the LOA contract carries a $677 weekly minimum. First rehearsal is April 5, 2027, and the run goes from April 30 to May 16, 2027. Sign up online and bring your Equity card. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Pick a cut in the Grease style, meaning late 1950s rock and roll or doo wop, rather than a contemporary pop ballad. Bring clean sheet music in your key with the cut clearly marked for the pianist, plus your full book in case they ask for something else. If you sing both legit and belt, have one song ready for each. Before you book a slot, confirm you are free for the April 2027 rehearsals and the May run.
