What they are looking for
The short film Solitud (Solitude), to be shot in Lleida, Spain, posted its casting call with the project synopsis. The lead is Carme, a woman of about 50 who has lived alone with her cat since her husband died more than fifteen years ago. The story shifts when her husband inexplicably reappears and she feels accompanied again. Based on the synopsis, the film needs an actress to play Carme and an actor to play the husband, although the listing does not describe the roles in detail. The text is in Catalan. The listing does not mention pay. The listing does not give a closing date. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
The film is an intimate drama with a fantastical twist, and much of it plays out in silence, so it helps to send a short clip of a quiet scene: looking at a photo, setting the table, reacting to something off camera. For Carme, a headshot in natural light and casual, at-home clothing works well. If you speak Catalan, say so, since the call is written in that language. Ask about shoot dates and pay before you commit.
