What they are looking for
The People's Theatre, an Inwood company in upper Manhattan, is holding Equity Principal Auditions on November 5 and 6 for its 2026-27 season. It includes a new play reading festival from November 30 to December 6 and a full production of Stand Clear of the Closing Doors by Marco Antonio Rodriguez, directed by Mino Lora, running March 1 to April 25, 2027. Roles include Iranian, South Asian and Latino characters, among them a Latina activist in her 50s to 70s, a Dominican man in his late 30s to early 40s fluent in Spanish, and a Mexican or Salvadoran woman in her 60s fluent in Spanish. It is paid: $20 per rehearsal hour and $73 per performance for the festival, and a $650 weekly minimum for the spring show. Bring a two minute contemporary monologue plus a headshot and resume stapled together. Apply through the original listing.
