What they are looking for
A university project is looking for an actor 50 or older to play a waiter in a short film. It shoots in Buenos Aires, and the listing is posted from the Flores neighborhood. It is unpaid. The call is brief: it names the character but says little about the story, the shoot dates or how many days it takes. To apply, write to the email in the listing, which also links to a portfolio on Instagram. It stays open until November 4. The listing does not say who is casting, so make sure it is a legitimate call before you send your details. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
A waiter is usually a role with few lines but a lot of presence: the way you walk, serve and look at people says it all. If you can, send a front facing photo in a light colored shirt and a full body shot in natural light. A short video where you improvise taking an order naturally helps. Before you commit, ask about the shoot date, the location and whether the production provides the costume.
