What they are looking for
Roxy Regional Theatre needs a replacement for A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol, directed and choreographed by Ben Liebert. The role is Charles "Cholly" Butts, a 35-year-old funny man who works as a baker, is a little stout and carries a hopeless crush on Margie, plus several cameos. Rehearsals begin November 21 and the show runs December 4 through 20. Out-of-town actors get housing and airport transportation. Email a headshot, resume and a 90-second video with a comedic monologue and a song, or your reels. It is paid: $400 per week, non-union. The listing does not give a closing date, so reach out before rehearsals begin. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
The monologue and the song both have to fit in 90 seconds, so choose a short comic piece and a song with a 1940s feel that suits the show. Cholly is a warm funny man rather than a clown, so aim for gentle humor and sharp timing. Since this is a replacement and rehearsals start November 21, send your materials right away and confirm you can stay in Clarksville through December 20.
