What they are looking for
ZACH Theatre is casting Disney's The Little Mermaid, with music by Alan Menken and direction by Cassie Abate. The theatre is seeking Equity actors for the roles in the breakdown. In-person auditions are Friday, November 20 at the ZACH rehearsal studios in Austin, by appointment via email, and video submissions are accepted until 11 p.m. Central that night. Prepare a short cut of a contemporary musical theater song; an accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals begin May 25, 2027, and performances run June 23 through August 1. It is paid: an LOA contract at a $888 weekly minimum. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Pick a contemporary musical theater song that shows off your tone in a short cut; the call asks for current repertoire, so it makes sense to skip the movie classics. If you send a video, film against a clean background with no backlight and keep ambient noise like air conditioning to a minimum, as the listing asks. Before you apply, make sure you are free from late May through early August 2027, with seven shows a week.
