What they are looking for
Big Deal Productions is holding non-union auditions for Clue, the murder mystery comedy based on the board game, directed by Matt Canon. Roles include Wadsworth, 30 and up, with a possible British accent; Miss Scarlet, Mr. Green and Professor Plum, 25 and up; Mrs. Peacock and Mrs. White, 40 and up; Colonel Mustard, 45 and up; Yvette, 20 and up, with a French accent; and an ensemble of 2 or 3 actors. Auditions are November 16 to 18, from 6 to 9 PM, in Buffalo Grove. Performances are in February. It is unpaid. Use the sign up link to get the sides by email. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
They email the sides seven days ahead and you pick two, so choose one that shows physical comedy and another with a character turn. If you want Wadsworth or Yvette, start working on the accent now, since it is required for Yvette. Watching the 1985 film helps you catch the fast comic rhythm. Before you sign up, check that you can rehearse Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus some Sundays, for several unpaid weeks.
