What they are looking for
Musical Theatre West is holding an Equity Chorus Call in Long Beach for its production of West Side Story, directed by Marisa Harrera with choreography by Kyle Coffman. The call seeks Equity chorus dancers of all genders, and performers going for principal dance roles such as Anita, Bernardo or Riff are welcome too. Dance groups start Saturday, November 21, at 12 PM and 2 PM, with callbacks that evening. It is paid, at a $1,054 weekly minimum. Rehearsals begin March 22, 2027, and performances run April 9 to 22. Actors local to Los Angeles and Orange County are encouraged to attend. Bring your Equity card. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Show up warmed up and in shoes you can really dance in, because the first combination starts right at the call time and a cut follows. Look over the callback material at musical.org/auditions ahead of time, since they may ask you to sing that same evening. It helps to compare your range with the role you want. Make sure you are free from March 22 through April 22, and allow extra time for street parking.
