What they are looking for
Corn Productions is looking for non-union actors of all identities and backgrounds for Happy Holly-Daze, its annual holiday sketch show, newly written each year, where the audience plays along with a drinking game in every sketch. The cast shares the stage equally. Auditions are Thursday, November 5, from 7 to 10 PM at the Cornservatory Theater, with group cold readings and nothing to prepare. Rehearsals start November 9, and performances run Thursday through Saturday, December 3 to 19. It is paid, with a $50 stipend for each performer. Email a headshot and resume with HOLLY-DAZE in the subject line, and mention any time limits that night. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Write soon, because the audition is November 5 and they need to confirm a time slot first. If your time is tight that night, say so in the same email. For a sketch cold read, it helps to practice reading comic scripts out loud this week and to be ready to play with the group. Check the rehearsal calendar, which begins four days later. It is worth asking whether the $50 is per show or for the whole run.
