What they are looking for
Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville, Tennessee, is filling additional roles in A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol, directed and choreographed by Ben Liebert. Open roles are Clifton Feddington, a 55-year-old radio announcer known for being cheap; William St. Claire, a 70-year-old retired stage and screen star who plays Scrooge; and Fritz Canigliaro, a wisecracking radio regular in his early 40s. Rehearsals start November 21, and the show runs December 4 to 20. It is paid: $400 per week, non-union, with housing and airport transportation for out-of-town actors. Email a headshot, resume, and a 90-second video with a monologue and a song, or your reels. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Pick the role that fits your age and build the 90-second video around 1940s radio: crisp diction, quick pacing, and a full voice. A period song, such as a big band number or a holiday standard, fits better than a current tune. If you are coming from out of town, confirm the housing setup and whether airfare is covered. Keep in mind that rehearsals start November 21.
