How to spot a fake casting callWhat they are looking for
A theater group is putting together a cycle of four short plays by the same writer: two comedies and two monologues, one with two extras, for a cast of seven. They are looking for performers for Cisco, a Sancho Panza type; Gálvez, a tall, lanky character; a short-tempered niece; a cheeky, outgoing nephew; and Dany, the monologist. Prior experience and commitment are required. Rehearsals are once a week, pause in mid-December and resume in February, with an opening in April 2027. It is unpaid: it is a co-op with no producer. Pick the role that fits you best before you write and name it in your email: Cisco, a Sancho Panza type, calls for a very different comic register than Dany, who carries a monologue alone.
