What they are looking for
Not Nineveh, a new play by Amy Pan directed by Jonathan Wong Frye and in residency at the Players Theatre in New York, is seeking non union actors. It follows two strangers betrayed by their families who flee across the country together. The roles are Regina, a 20 year old Korean American woman (any East Asian actor may submit); Caius, a white high school teacher, 40 to 50; Aarón, a Latino therapist, 40 to 50, married to Caius; and Hanwool, a Korean megachurch pastor over 50, ideally with a slight accent. It is paid: a $300 stipend for Regina and Caius and $200 for Aarón and Hanwool. Performances run April 1 to 18, 2027, with rehearsals in March and in person callbacks the first week of December. Email two self tapes, a headshot, resume and socials. The listing does not give a closing date. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Download your character's sides from the link in the listing and record the two self tapes separately: the scene and the answer about your character's journey, one minute at most. In that answer, show you understand the character's struggle with family and faith instead of summarizing the plot. Since there is no closing date, send everything this week. Before committing, check that you are free all of April and for March rehearsals, and that you can be in New York for the December callbacks.
