What they are looking for
Disney Live Entertainment is casting comedic actors for Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, the live comedy show at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. They want strong character voices, quick wit, improv skills and the ability to learn the technology used in the show. The roles are Buddy or Betty Boil, a lovable oaf of a monster with the flair of a wannabe stand up comic who warms up the audience, and Marty, Mike Wazowski's little nephew, with a boyish, charming voice and an eye for puns. This is an Equity contract and it is paid: $26.00 per hour minimum, with Equity pension, 401K and Disney health benefits. Submit the monologue through DisneyAuditions.com by November 16 at 11:30 pm ET; callbacks are planned for January 7, 2027 in Orlando. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Choose one of the two roles and build the voice in detail: Buddy or Betty Boil needs the energy of a comic who thinks he is better than he is, and Marty needs a believable kid voice that never gets tiring. In the show the characters talk to the audience in real time, so practice short jokes about imaginary people in the crowd. If you have improv or stand up credits, mention them. Keep January 7 open for the callback.
