What they are looking for
MJ The Musical, now running on Broadway, is holding an Equity principal audition for future replacements. Roles include MJ, a Black man in his late 20s to early 30s who sings high tenor and falsetto and dances brilliantly; young Michael, late teens to early 20s; Little Michael, around 10, and Little Marlon, around 12, both with unchanged voices; Rob and Joseph Jackson, 40s to 50s; and Rachel, a documentary filmmaker in her 20s or 30s of any ethnicity. The EPA is Thursday, December 10 at Pearl Studios from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Prepare a brief song in the style of the show and bring a headshot and resume. Casting is by The Telsey Office. It is paid: a Production contract at a $2,799 weekly minimum. Apply through the original listing.

For the Michael roles, choose a short soul or pop cut that shows your falsetto without strain, since that is the first thing the breakdown lists.
