What they are looking for
Musical Theatre Guild is presenting «Side Show», the Broadway musical about conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, as a script in hand concert staged by Michael Donovan. They are seeking Equity actors for Violet and Daisy (women ages 20 to 35, mezzo and alto with belt), Terry (man, 30s to early 40s, baritone), Buddy (white man, 20 to 35, tenor), Jake (African American man, 30s to 40s) and The Boss, plus a company that doubles roles. It is paid: an LOA contract at a $534.18 weekly minimum for one week. The EPA is November 20 in North Hollywood: bring a short song in your key, headshot and resume. Email submissions with video links are also welcome. Rehearsals start February 2, with a single performance on February 7, 2027. Apply through the original listing.
Castina's tip
Nearly all of «Side Show» is sung, so choose a short song that shows the belt or top your role calls for and tells a clear story, ideally from the 1930s or the classic musical theatre songbook. Bring sheet music marked in your key for the accompanist. The company casts from its membership first: if you cannot make the 20th, email your video anyway to stay on file.
